Yunnan Arbor Black Tea

The Yunnan Arbor Tree Black Tea is one of the few teas that we offer that is not from the Fujian province of China (which is located in the southeastern part of the country).  This tea is from the Yunnan Province, which is located just north of Vietnam.  Yunnan is a more remote and less populated area, and the Yunnan Arbor Tree Black Tea is made from the leaves of wild growing tea trees that are often used to make puerh tea.

Unlike some other black teas, the Yunnan Arbor Tree Black Tea doesn't have a strong bitter flavor.  This tea is more similar to some of the red teas that we carry, in that it has a smooth body and subtle natural sweetness (although the red teas tend to have more honey-like undertones, while this black tea tends to have more subtle maple syrup undertones), yet with a richer and more of a woodsy, malty flavor, a fuller mouth feel, and a more comprehensive covering of the palate.
