The Shang Tea Blog is the educational arm of the Shang Tea company. We hope to use this space to share more information about tea, chinese tea culture, and industry news. Shang Tea Company was founded by owner Zehua Shang, and we specialize in white tea which we produce ourselves. In addition to white tea, Shang also produces green tea, jasmine tea, and red/black tea. Chinese Culture: Did You Know?

Did you know that the Chinese festival of Qingming (Pronounced Ching ming) is celebrated in early April? This festival, also referred to as Ancestors Day, is a day to celebrate and honor ancestors at their grave sites. Family members sweep their ancestors tombs and offer gifts of tea, wine, food, etc to them. Our most popular tea in our store and on our website is our White Peony King which has a very soothing, calming and fresh taste. Interestingly enough though, it is not scented with any peony flowers!
