Last month we introduced you to Anne,
and this month we are introducing you to D, another one of our staff
members. D. is an avid tea lover who has been working with us for about a
year and 4 months now. D. spends her days packing tea, making sure the
store is clean, and enjoying tea with anyone who walks through the
doors. She is typically in the store Monday-Friday, so stop by sometime
to enjoy a cup of tea with her!
How did you get into tea?
got into tea when I lived in San Francisco where there is a bustling
tea culture. At the tea bar where I discovered tea, they shared tea
gongfu style like we do in the shop, which I enjoy for the sense of
community that goes along with it.
How did you find Shang Tea?
shared tea with one of my friends who owned a shop in Westport, and she
told me that I needed to go and check out Shang Tea. After my first
visit I was totally captivated and proceeded to stop by for tea as often
What is your favorite Shang Tea and why?
That is a tough question, let’s say that currently my favorite Shang Tea is the five year aged brick tea… but it’s a tough call between that and the Golden Needle Red Tea.
Part of the reason I love those two so much is because of the really
full bodied, but smooth qualities that come from both of these teas.
Any words of wisdom for the tea lovers out there?
Taking the time to mindfully drink tea is one of the best things you can do for yourself
